Technofest’2013 Mobile Application Development Work Shop on 6th April 2013
The Objective of the Mobile Application Development Work Shop was conducted since Java is ubiquitous from the high end servers, through to the desktop, and now down to mobile devices such as telephones and personal digital assistants (PDAs). One day workshop was organized to train the students of IT and CSE streams on “Mobile Application Development using J2ME”.

Linux Programming Contest conducted on 15th September 2012 for 3rd year and 4th year IT&CSE students. Programs in LINUX Shell were given to 60 students and one hour duration only to execute and display the result.

Infosys - Campus Connect Programme FP3.1
Infosys DC, Gachibowli, Hyderabed conducted the PRINCIPAL’s MEET FY13 on 8th Feb 2013. The theme was ‘SUSTAINBILITY and GREATER RELEVANCE’. Dr. Ramesh babu 4VP & Head Campus Connect from Banglore.DC, represented the Dashboard of status and New Developments of Campus connect of India. Mr. Ravi Kumar S-DC Head Hyderabad emphasized and profitability and reverse Innovation (More Value at less price) the need for the present day corporate strategies.
GNEC is presently a Member college with 79 students being certified during the period Jan 2012-Dec 2013 i.e. last year. Fifty (50) colleges were eliminated out of 131 colleges for not conducting any program last year.
Department of IT has added several value added programs for its students so that they get high end training and exposure to practical fields as well. The department engages students in various types of training programs throughout the year right from soft skills to technological skills. These programs enable student to approach, attend and succeed in placement drives conducted by the college through various MNC Organizations.
- Pre Placement trainings such as soft skills, communications skills, presentation skills etc. conducted at department level which enable students of 2nd and 3rd years prepare for placements.
- Specialized technical trainings such as ORACLE (SQL/PL.SQL), Data Warehousing and Data Mining (Informatica, Data stage, Cognos, Weka), Testing Tools (Win Runner, Load Runner, QTP, Test Director) given by experts from industry. These training programs will enable students to understand, learn and expertise in relevant tool/technology, in turn these concepts can be used while implementing the Minor or Major Projects.
- The Department has tied up with IBM Academic Initiative and two real time IBM based projects are executed by our students as part of their main project. Department of IT has added several value added programs for our students so that they get high end training and exposure to practical fields as well.
Some of our past all time popular courses in the department are;
- .NET course conducted for all the modules (ASP.NET, VB.NET, C#) for 2010/11 batch passed out students by experts from Soft Cube Solutions.
Mr. Balakrishna from softcube solutions training to our IV year IT students on .Net Technologies. - The department has conducted Infosys Campus Connect-Foundation Program 2.0 for all branches of final year engineering students in the six modules during the year 2009-2010.

- Department of IT,CSE & Computer Applications and IUCEE of GNI jointly organized a national level faculty leadership institute program on “Data Mining and Data Ware Housing” by Dr.S.Lakshmivarahan (Professor of Computer Science at University of Oklahoma,USA)
- Department of IT, CSE & Computer Applications jointly organized A two day National Conference on “ recent trends in information/Network Security” in association with ISTE, on 23rd and 24th December 2010. More than 250 student participants participated from all over the state, with more than 70 research papers.
- Department of IT, CSE & Computer Applications jointly conducted National Conference on Emerging Trends in Information and Communication Technologies collaborating with computer Society India Division IV and CSI Hyderabad Chapter on 14-15th October 2011 at GNI. The main resource persons were Prof. S.V. Raghavan IIT-Madras, Dr. D.V. Somayanjulu, NIIT-Warangal, Prof. Kesav V Nori, IIIT-Hyderabad.
